Road safety is an outstanding concern in our society, forcing public administrations to constantly update and reform vehicle containment systems, especially on bridges and in intersections.

In COPREMESAL, we have been dedicated to the assembly of road protection products for many years, both in new roads and the maintenance of existing ones, to do this we have several pieces of equipment with the machinery necessary to fit or replace any protective elements either parapet walls, imposts or barriers, made of concrete or metal.

METAL BARRIER (the classic model)

The double corrugated metal barrier is the most commonly used road protection element in both Spain and most of the rest of the world.

It is basically composed of rails, posts, separators and accessories, the combination of which will enable fitting all the protection systems and their respective beginning, transition and end sections, protection…

This nomenclature corresponds to standard types.

- BMSNA: Single metal barrier
- BMSRA: Reduced single metal barrier
- BMSNB: Single metal barrier with double rail
- BMSNC: Single metal barrier with 2 single rails
- BMSND: Single metal barrier with 2 double rails
- BMDNA: Double metal barrier
- BMDRA: Reduced double metal barrier
- 2xBMSNA: 2 rows of BMS
- BMDDA: Double detachable metal barrier
- 2xBMSNB: 2 rows of BMS with double rail
- 2xBMSNC: 2 rows of BMS with 2 single rails
- 2xBMSND: 2 rows of BMS con 2 double rails
- Ara: Impact attenuator "Great" system

S235 JR steel is used for the manufacture of the rail, separators and end elements and S253 JR for the posts, both having the correct content of silicon and phosphorus to be hot galvanised.

CONCRETE BARRIER

The concrete barrier is another solution, sometimes a valid alternative to the metal barrier.

It can be prefabricated or made "on-site" and although its function is similar, the performance is different. It is much more rigid and less able to dissipate energy. However, it is much less jumpable, which makes it ideal for medians.

There are several models according to the situation and type of road.

Types of standard concrete barriers

- BHSEJ: Simple concrete Barrera made "On-site"
- BHDEJ: Double concrete Barrera " On-site "
- BHSPF: Prefabricated Simple concrete Barrera
- BHDPF: Prefabricated Double concrete Barrera
- 2xBHSEJ: 2 rows of BHS with plant box
- 2xBHDEJ: 2 rows of BHD with plant box

In accordance with standard EHE-98, HA-25 concrete and B500s steel is used in the manufacture of the prefabricated concrete elements.

CONCRETE PARAPET WALLS

Following current regulations, many parapet walls are used, mostly made of concrete, to guarantee vehicle safety, with standardised internal sections. These physical barriers must comply with all the functional requirements a vehicle containment system must abide by, but regulations leave the design free, enabling elements to be designed in accordance with the bridge structure.

Thus, as well as standard models, our company manufactures moulds and parapet walls with different external finishes, at the request of the designer.

Likewise, imposts can be manufactured with an exterior finish complementary to the continuous concreting "on-site" of the internal face of the parapet wall.

By request of Acesa, we manufacture and fit customised concrete protection for special cases such as bumpers on tollbooths or mixed barriers for collection boxes of the fibre optic network.

We have a wide-ranging experience in manufacturing moulds and parts and their assembly. This skill enables us to take on any work with total confidence.

Standard types of parapet walls:

- PHPJ: Concrete prefabricated parapet wall
- PX: Concrete prefabricated parapet wall with rail
- PXPJ: Concrete prefabricated parapet wall with rail
- PXEJ: Concrete parapet wall "on-site" with rail
- PMA: Metal parapet wall with rail
- PMC: Metal parapet wall

METAL PARAPET WALLS

As well as the concrete parapet walls, with and without rails, PMC metal parapet walls are currently becoming very popular. COPREMESAL has the material and experience for fitting them, both in replacement and for new work.

GUARDRAILS

As well as imposts, some bridges for vehicles or pedestrians must have guardrails.

In COPREMESAL we have manufactured and fitted a great deal of them, both for large viaducts and small pedestrian walkways, either welded to the bar guards or mechanically secured to the floor, in steel or stainless steel or mixed, of our own design and the client’s.

If you need any sort of guardrail, do not hesitate in contacting our technical department and together we will surely find the model you need.

All the data in this catalogue is based on recommendations on vehicle containment systems, circular orders 321/95 T and P.
